Dónde está la biblioteca?

Posted by AllieB on July 27, 2010

I have always been an avid reader. When I was in third grade I won $300 for selling the most wrapping paper of anyone in my entire school (Sarah R. Smith Elementary, Class of 1994), and I blew the entire cash prize at the book fair.

To support my habit, I frequent the library. The Buckhead Branch is my favorite – its unique facade is something of an eyesore, but the inside is light and airy and kind of the exact opposite of how I feel most envision libraries to be…

Anyway,  I wanted to have a short list for when people ask for recommendations – so here it is. I did try to choose some of the slightly less obvious selections, but nothing too obscure.

Soon-to-be-Classics:

  1. Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
  2. Little Bee by Chris Cleave
  3. Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri

Beach Reads:

  1. A Soft Place to Land by Susan Rebecca White
  2. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah
  3. Angels by Marian Keyes

Mysteries:

  1. Cold Paradise by Stuart Woods
  2. Skinny Dip by Carl Hiaasen
  3. Night Fall by Nelson DeMille
