Meet & Greet: My Restaurant Spreadsheet

Posted by AllieB on November 2, 2010

I published my restaurant spreadsheet as a web page that looks exactly like a spreadsheet and it can now be found under the page, “Eat & Greet: Atlanta Restaurants.” This page can be accessed via the tool bar on top. Hopefully one day I can do something way cooler with it…

Here is the document: Atlanta Restaurants, and below is a little preview – a snack, if you will – of the real deal.

Ross: You ate my sandwich?

Dr. Leedbetter: It was a simple mistake. It could happen to anyone.

Ross: Oh-oh really? Did you confuse it with your own turkey sandwich with a Moist Maker?

Dr. Leedbetter: No.

Ross: Do you perhaps remember seeing a note on top of it?

Dr. Leedbetter: There may have been a-a joke or a limerick of some kind.

Ross: That said it was my sandwich?!

Dr. Leedbetter: Now calm down. Come look in my office, some of it my still be in the trash.

Ross: What??!?!

Dr. Leedbetter: Well, it was quite large. I had to throw most of it away.

Ross: You-you-you-you threw my sandwich away!

Ross: MY SANDWICH?!!!

Ross: MY SANDWICH!!!!!!

Shameful Post

Posted by AllieB on November 2, 2010

In the past, when I’ve surveyed others as to what sort of material they might want to read about on my little blog here, people always say I should write about shameful Facebook posts, of which there are a plethora. I’m not going to go on a tirade of things I hate on Facebook, but I do like to make fun of people who do stupid things on Facebook.

The sad thing is – sometimes people are innocent victims of their insolent friends. See below. The origin of this escapes me – I think Pal shared it last summer…? I don’t really know, but I’ve protected names and faces. (Although I will assert that I did not know, nor did I have a single friend in common with, any of the people involved.)

Commentator #1 needs a refresher in Social Niceties: What Not to Say to a Recently Separated Person, Particularly on a Viral Platform Such as Facebook. Commentator #3 did the right thing in calling him out. However, and maybe this is just my preference to avoid potentially awk situations, I would have inquired of a close, trustworthy mutual friend as to what happened, and then sent an email – NOT an FB message – offering my condolences or whatever was appropriate in this scenario.

Either way, Commentator #1: you’re fired.

I know I have more shameful material than this archived in my color-coded labels. BOLO for Shameful Post, Vol II.

Bookshelf Porn

Posted by AllieB on November 1, 2010

I’ve discussed my love for reading and rooms dedicated solely to books. One day I hope to have a personal library of my very own – I think I’d want one of those ladders to cruise around on. I am reminded of my Disney Character alter ego, Belle of Beauty and the Beast – we share a fondness for reading, re-reading, and book ladders…as well as a warm and loving, nonjudgmental heart, of course.

Anyway, this photo blog, Bookshelf Porn, collects images of rooms of books – stores, personal libraries, random bookshelves, and it’s awesome. I guess I should also mention that is stricly G-rated; other apt monikers could be Bookshelf Paradise, Bookshelf Haven, Bookshelf Orgy…just kidding. It’s self-described as being:

“Porn for book lovers. A photoblog collection of all the best bookshelf photos for people who *heart* bookshelves.”

Karl Lagerfield’s is the only celebrity one I’ve stumbled upon yet – it’s…thorough.

I prefer Diane von Furstenberg’s home library, which I share again below. It just emanates serenity. Having a room like this to come home to on a Manic Monday would effectively cancel out any and all mania – before long I might even come to refer to it as Mellow Monday…??

I took the one on left w my cell piece; on right from September 2005 Town & Country

Happy All Saints’ Day, and a very happy birthday to you, Penn Badgley.
